Spinal Manipulation
Chiropractic Adjustments can greatly improve physical function, range of motion, and provide
pain relief. Typically, Chiropractors will use their hands (or other device) to apply a quick,
controlled force to a joint of the spine, moving it beyond it's passive range of motion. The amount of force
varies, depending on form of manipulation.
Electrical Stimulation Therapy
Also known as EMS (Electric Muscle Stimulation), this type of therapy can provide a great deal of
relief from pain. Electrodes, carefully placed on the problem area, send low frequency electrical pulses
to the muscles, causing them to contract repeatedly. This increases blood circulation in the area which helps
to facilitate the healing process. Most people find EMS to be a very enjoyable and relaxing therapy.
Intersegmental Traction
This therapy is done using a traction table which is set up to gently elongate and
stretch your spine or other joints and muscles. This helps to reduce and prevent muscle spasms and
restore the normal range of motion in the joints.
Trigger Point Therapy
Triggers points, also known as muscle knots, can cause a great deal of pain, often overshadowing
the original problem. Unlike a cramp or "charlie horse" which is a whole muscle spasm, trigger points are
smaller areas of the muscle which are tightly contracted, often cutting off their own blood supply.
Fortunately, these extremely painful knots can easily be treated with Trigger Point Therapy.
Ultrasound Therapy
Therapeutic ultrasound has been used in the treatment of musculoskeletal injuries and conditions
for years, primarily because it effectively promotes healing in the injured tissue and helps reduce pain. The
Ultrasound is able to penetrate deeper than other heat-based modalities as it facilitates a beneficial
effect on deep muscle tissue.
Unique capabilities make it a valuable option as a therapeutic treatment for a wide range of acute
and chronic conditions, such as tendonitis, muscle spasms, bursitis, fasciitis, edema, sprains, contractures, and
adhesions. Its beneficial healing effects, pain reduction, and versatility often make ultrasound therapy the
treatment of choice for many musculoskeletal conditions.
The ultrasound waves are generated by the quartz crystal vibrating at one million cycles per
second, and are then transmitted into the painful tissues thru a coupling gel on the patient’s skin. The patient
only feels a mild warmth that really feels good to inflamed tissues like arthritis or bursitis.
Massage
Theraputic Massage, one of the oldest of the healing arts, providing relief from stress and
chronic pain.
Diathermy
A Chiropractic treatment used to penetrate heat deep below the surface of the
skin, into the damaged tissues. Diathermy speeds up the healing process by increasing blood flow, reducing
swelling, and relieving pain. It is also very effective at relaxing the muscles.
Chiropractic treatments can help with many types of conditions and/or
injuries. Why suffer with chronic pain when you don't have to?
