What to Expect As a New Patient
On your first visit, Dr. Bagwell will meet with you, review your paperwork and medical
history, and ask you questions to get more specific details about the pain or other problems you're
experiencing.
It's very important, as a Chiropractic Physician, that Dr. Bagwell determine whether or not your
condition is a manifestation of a medical problem, or if it is indeed a chiropractic condition.
If he determines the problem is medical, he may then refer you to a medical
specialist rather than perform chiropractic treatments. For example, kidney stones, and sometimes
other more serious conditions, can often initially appear as back pain.
This is why all new patients receive an appropriate general medical examination, as well as a
chiropractic examination, and x-rays if indicated, of the spine or joint(s) causing you pain or limited
mobility.
On your second visit, Dr. Bagwell will personally review the x-ray films with you. Based on
the findings of the physical exam and the x-rays, he will then recommend an appropriate treatment plan.
Some patients may only need one or two treatments, while other patients with more
significant problems may require treatments more often, over a period of time to facilitate healing.
Each and every patient is different. That's why we devise a personalized treatment plan based
your specific needs.
